New York Biology Peppermint Essential Oil Review

20160829_133414Hi again!  As promised, here I am reviewing another essential oil by New York Biology; Peppermint!  Who doesn’t love the smell of peppermint?  Well, I can say I’ve never met someone who doesn’t, let’s just put it that way. 🙂   I put this essential oil in my diffuser this evening while having a nice girls night with a friend, trying out some new face masks that I got.  We really enjoyed having the peppermint oil scent waft throughout the room.

The scent is really nice and I only used two drops of oil this time and that produced a scent that was plenty potent.

  • Soothes digestive issues
  • Freshens bad breath
  • Relieves headaches
  • Antimicrobial properties
  • Improves mental focus
  • Clears respiratory tract
  • Boosts energy

New York Biology Sandalwood Essential Oil Review

1472500782414-60444227Hi guys!  I got to try out another essential oil from New York Biology; Sandalwood.  I enjoyed the scent of this as well.  Once again, I used my Essential Oil Aromatherapy Diffuser.  I ended up using 3 drops and again finding that 2 drops would probably be potent enough. I didn’t have much time to test this oil out before I had to put up my review, but I did use it for several hours over the weekend one day, and it had quite the calming effect on me.  I look forward to continue using it to see what other benefits will come from it.

I didn’t know too much about Sandalwood initially, but after Googling it here is what I found:

Sandalwood:

widely cultivated Indian tree that yields fragrant timber and oil.
*a perfume or incense derived from sandalwood.
*used in names of other trees that yield timber similar to sandalwood, e.g., red sandalwood.

Also, according to https://draxe.com/sandalwood-essential-oil/, these are the following benefits of sandalwood:
  • Mental clarity
  • Relaxing and calming
  • Memory booster
  • Natural aphrodisiac
  • Astringent
  • Anti-viral and antiseptic
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Expectorant

New York Biology Lavender Essential Oil Review

1472498832111-223946387

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I was able to test out New York Biology Lavender Essential Oil this past week. It came in a 1 fluid ounce glass bottle with an eye dropper.  This is actually my first time ever using essential oils.  One of my friends bought me an Essential Oil Aromatherapy Diffuser for my birthday a couple months ago and I am finally getting to use it. I tested this oil out in my diffuser for 3 nights in a row because lavender is supposed to aid in sleeping better.  It also has a nice, calming scent.

1472498921553467700671

I followed the instructions that came with my diffuser and it said to add 100 ml of water, then 2 or 3 drops of essential oils.  To be honest, I think I could get away with just 2 drops because it is able to produce a really strong scent with 3 drops.

After doing a little research online, here is what I found lavender essential oils can help with:

  • Reduces anxiety and emotional stress
  • Heals burns and wounds
  • Improves sleep
  • Restores skin complexion and reduces acne
  • Slows aging with powerful antioxidants
  • Improves eczema and psoriasis
  • Alleviates headaches

CacheAlaska® Beanie Knit Hat Review

IMG_20160812_135940
Hi guys!  So we’re back from Hawaii and of course I’m wishing I was still there.  But it’s back to the grind. 🙂  What better time of year than late August in California to review a winter hat, right?  LOL  I came up with a way to test it so I could at least get some idea of whether it keeps me warm or not.

IMG_20160822_191615

So, I tried it on with the air conditioner on.  I have no doubt that it would keep me warm even in cold weather just because of how it’s knitted, as well as the insulated part on the inside edge of the hat.

20160822_190637The company that makes theses hats is a family owned business in Alaska.  The included a coupon code for 20% off my next purchase which is pretty sweet!  They also have a No Hassle money back guarantee.

1471919369147-1608796217Well I look forward to testing this hat out again in the middle of winter when I go back home to the Midwest to visit.

RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Eye Cream and RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5-in-1 Restoring Night Cream Reviews

Aloha from Hawaii!  I’m enjoying a little vacation out here with my boyfriend this week.  I’m excited to be blogging from this beautiful location.

20160816_072050

I got to try RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Eye Cream and RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5-in-1 Restoring Night Cream.  From the start, I LOVE the packaging.  It’s so fancy looking!  I like that the eye cream is in a metal tube, which makes it easier to get all of the product out, with nothing going to waste. Also, the eye cream is in a glass container which is great because keeping products in glass containers allows the ingredients to stay fresher longer.

IMG_20160811_182336

The products were very enjoyable to use.  The scent was nice and the texture was of a good quality; just the right consistency; not too thick or too thin.

I’ve only had an opportunity to use this for a week so it’s hard to see how much of a difference it’s made on my skin, but they do say that you will see results after 4 weeks, so I’m excited to see the results here in 3 weeks.

Have you tried these products before or do you have any questions?  Please comment below.

Aloha everyone and Mahalo for stopping by today!

Shikshook Cocktail Shaker Set Review

Good evening everyone!  Tonight I tested the Shikshook Cocktail Shaker Set.

IMG_20160806_141315

As you may have read in other posts of mine, I’m a member of Tomoson.com where you can apply to test products and review them.  I applied for this because I thought it looked pretty cool and I like all of the accessories that it comes with.  The velvet bag is a huge plus because I can store this set easily and also take it with me wherever I need to.

Tonight I made a mixed drink on the fly with this cocktail shaker set.

20160811_204255

This came with one jigger and two liquor pourers.  As you can see, the shot of liquor has been poured into the jigger.  Super convenient to have these things while I’m mixing up drinks for a party or small get together or even if I decide I want a little cocktail after work or something.  The stainless steel makes it look so sleek and sophisticated. By the way, the entire set it made of stainless steel. Everything is dishwasher safe also.  It’s fun using the same type of shaker and accessories that I see in fancy bars.  Even the brand name is on the liquor pourer!  Awesome!

20160811_204242

At this point, I have poured the jigger full of liquor and the orange Gatorade into the shaker.  I have never used Gatorade as a mixer but this was all I had on hand so I got creative and improvised. LOL

20160811_204312I shook it up nice and good. I love feeling the frost on my hands that forms on the shaker as you shake it. And it sealed the liquids in tightly, no leaking or dripping.20160811_194919Easy to pour!  I felt like a bartender for the night in my own kitchen!

20160811_194939

And Voila!  A beautiful and tasty mixed drink!

This set also includes a BONUS EBOOK: 100 COCKTAIL RECIPES

Raaya Multi-Use Peeler Review

I was asked by Tomoson.com to review the Raaya Multi-Use Peeler.  This thing is awesome!  I have never owned a hand-held peeler like this.  It allows you to make thick or thin strips of vegetables, fruits, hard cheeses and chocolate.

20160809_194338

20160809_194811

Tonight I used the peeler to make potato chips as well as julienne carrots and zucchini which we ate over rice.

PhotoGrid_1470804867004

This peeler is made with anti-bacterial stainless steel and is durable and safe for dishwasher use.  That’s  a huge plus!  It also comes with a little scrub brush.

20160809_194925I really enjoy using this peeler!  You can use it for so many things!
